What is it like to be each other?

Communication is hard, which means it’s an adventure. As an author, English teacher, father and husband, I use stories to teach people. What they learn is what it’s like to be each other.

This substack will be for my newsletter and (in the future) serialized fiction. You can find more of my writing, art, and conversations on my Patreon.

Why should I subscribe?

If you’re interested in aliens, languages, history, robots, or dinosaurs, you’ve come to the right place. I write scifi, alternate history, and fantasy, which these reviewers seemed to enjoy.

Click the box below to sign up for an email about the most interesting thing that’s happened to me that month.

My goal is for you to think about someone in a new way. See if that happens.

.

Who are you?

I’m an author and English teacher living with my family in Sofia Bulgaria. My work includes the speculative-biology novel Junction and its sequel Interchange, the optimistic post-apocalyptic comic-book First Knife (with Simon Roy). and the Sidewise Award-winning alternate history short story “Treasure Fleet” (in the Tales from Alternate Earths anthology).

Moderation policy

Like in a classroom. Be kind and talk to each other to learn something new. My advice is to read something, spend the day thinking about it and only respond then. That’s what I’ll do.
